On CBC Radio’s The Broadcast, host Paula Gale spoke with Ian Urbina about China’s growing fish farming industry in some of the driest places on Earth. Urbina explained how aquaculture production in Xinjiang has expanded since 2017 under a government campaign known as the “Blue Miracle”. The conversation drew on The Outlaw Ocean Project’s Food for Feed investigation, which examines the human and environmental costs of the global fish farming industry.
