Email sent to the contact address for Daeil Fisheries Co. Ltd.
The email said: "We’re contacting you in light of our latest investigation which concerns the use of forced labor in China’s food processing industry, and a link we’ve discovered between a company engaged in such practices and your supply chain – Donggang Luyuan Food. In testimony to the U.S. Congressional-Executive Commission on China in October 2023, the non-government organization the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea identified Donggang Luyuan Food Co. Ltd. as using North Korean labor after the December 2019 deadline for the repatriation of overseas North Korean workers required under United Nations Security Council Resolution 2397.
Trade data seen by The Outlaw Ocean Project shows that Daeil Fisheries Co. Ltd. was the consignee for multiple shipments of moon snail meat from Donggang Luyuan since 2017.
