Email sent to the contact address for Xinjiang Tianyun Organic Agriculture Co. Ltd.
The email said: "I’m contacting you in light of our latest investigation which concerns the use of forced labor in China’s food processing industry.
In 2022, Dalian Rich Enterprise Group 大连瑞驰企业集团 signed a deal granting Xinjiang Tianyun Organic Agriculture Co. Ltd. 新疆天蕴有机农业有限公司 access to Dalian Rich’s distribution network.
The United Nations, human rights organizations and academic experts agree that since 2018, the Chinese government has systematically subjected Xinjiang’s predominantly Muslim ethnic minorities to forced labor across the country via state-sanctioned employment schemes which use coercive methods in worker enrollment, and obstruct freedom to leave employment. Dalian Rich’s international customers include companies in the U.S., where the importation of goods produced from state-imposed forced labor is prohibited. The Uyghur Forced Labor Protection Law, signed in December 2021, prohibits the import of goods manufactured in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region unless the importer can prove that the goods were not produced using forced labor.
Does Xinjiang Tianyun Organic Agriculture Co. Ltd. have any comment or statement to make in light of the above information? Please respond to this email by close of business July 7, 2023."
